• Email address - If you sign in with email/password authentication, or if provided by Sign in with Apple
• Account identifier - A unique ID to identify your account (Firebase UID)
• Account timestamps - When your account was created and last updated

Your Starword Data

• Your starword - The word you've chosen for your year
• Word history - Previous starwords from past years
• Reflection history - Which prompts you've seen (to avoid repetition)
• Last prompt shown - The most recent reflection prompt displayed

Preferences & Settings

• Notification preferences - Your chosen frequency and timing for reminders
• Quiet time settings - Hours when you don't want notifications

Technical Data

• Device token - Used solely to send push notifications to your device
• Unread count - Number of unread notifications for badge display

Optional Data

• Tip history - If you choose to support the app with optional tips, we record the transaction

We respect your privacy. Starwords does not collect:

• Location data
• Contacts or address book
• Browsing history
• Usage analytics or behavioral tracking
• Advertising identifiers (IDFA)
• Health or fitness data
• Photos, camera, or microphone access
• Any data for advertising purposes

We use your information solely to:

• Provide the app's features - Display your starword, send reflection prompts, sync across devices
• Send notifications - Deliver the reflection prompts you've requested at your preferred times
• Personalize your experience - Show relevant prompts and avoid repetition
• Process purchases - If you choose to leave an optional tip
• Respond to support requests - If you contact us for help

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

• Secure storage - Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase, a leading cloud platform with enterprise-grade security
• Encryption - Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest
• Authentication - Access to your data requires authentication with your account
• Access control - Only you can access your personal data through the app

Starwords uses the following third-party services:

• Access your data - View all your data within the app

• Control notifications - Adjust or disable notifications in the app settings or your device settings

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we're required to retain it for legal or legitimate business purposes.

Starwords is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice in the app or sending a notification. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
